I work as a Principal Engineer and Tech Lead in one of the platform engineering teams at Gojek, part of the GoTo Group, where I drive the architectural vision and technical strategy for our mobile platform. Right now that means scalability for the Driver Platform.
Over the past seven years my focus has been scaling our engineering culture and unifying practices across platforms. Much of that goes into cross-platform frameworks that steer development towards unified, efficient solutions, and into tooling for core mobile health metrics that keeps app performance improving.
I am excited by, and somewhat hooked on, state machines and building predictable systems. I am a strong proponent of test-driven, pragmatic engineering, functional and reactive programming, and open source.
I started off in 2013 with the crazy idea of building an operating system on top of Android. It failed and sits parked, but it is where the habit of writing Android apps began. Before Gojek I was an Android engineer at Kite, building offline-first mobile finance products.
Constantly travelling, but mostly based out of Bengaluru. Off the clock I run Vanguard Labs, a small self-hosted fleet. I pen down my thoughts on the blog; some of it gets published.
Platform Engineering, Driver Platform. Prime focus on reliability, scalability and stability across the platform; architecture and technical direction for the mobile platform.
The Driver platform maintains the lifecycle of driver partners in Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam — their order experience, income and recognition, trust in the system, and stability.
Offline-first mobile finance apps (Kite Cash, Kite Tab) built on Model View Intent with unidirectional data flow over reactive extensions.
End-to-end business expense and reimbursement app — submit expenses, upload and crop receipts offline, categories, history.
Mobile finance — a debit card without a bank account, instant transfers to any mobile number, savings.
An AOSP-based Android 7.1.1 build on an open-source kernel for the Galaxy S3.
