Missing Microsoft Office while on Linux? Here is something you can do!

One of the things, I used to miss about Windows while using a Linux distribution was, the power of its Office Suites.
Okay, Let’s say we have OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice, which in fact is getting better day by day, but Microsoft’s Office suite is by far the best at least for next few years.
With Mr. Satya Nadella coming to the helm of affairs at Microsoft, he has promoted the “Cloud First” approach, opening a ton of premium resources for a free limited access use.
“Mobile First. Cloud First.”– Satya Nadella, CEO Microsoft
One of them, on my fav list, is Office online. You get the same interface, same formatting options* and its FREE.
You have Microsoft Word Online, Microsoft PowerPoint Online etc to drive your way to basic edits anywhere…. PC, mobile, tablets etc. We have already seen how Microsoft is showing its love for Linux Distribution’s which is a rare sight. (Check this out here)
We are hopeful that some day Microsoft will bring its popular Office Suite to Linux. Till then, we have Office Online to our rescue.
To use online Office, go here. You will need a Microsoft account to access. Well that is also free. Use your own email id to create one.

P.S: It is for programmers/developers/Linux Fan who uses Linux for day to day development activities and also works with presentations and documents once in a while.
